Oswego Opera Theater – received $5,000 to support advertising and related materials for production of “The Golden Cage,” which depicts the story of Holocaust refugees brought to Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter in Oswego .

Blessings in a Backpack/Fulton Chapter – received $1,000 to support a campaign to generate community support and awareness with mailings, advertising and event participation.

Desens House, Inc. – received $4,800 to support a weekly cooking class and three monthly events hosted by the Desens House throughout the community for the next year.

Oswego County Humane Society, Inc. – received $3,000 to support the purchase of two double free standing kennel units for in office use.

Wellhouse Ministries, Inc. – received $5,000 to support the role of Director of Development at Anthony House.

Refugee & Immigrant Self-Empowerment Inc. – received $2,800 to support the creation of an outdoor classroom structure with a wash shelter to accommodate classes, workshops, community groups and gatherings.

CNY Arts Center, Inc. – received $2,860 to support the launch of a performing arts academy with weekly programming in creative techniques, team work, problem solving, and time management as it relates to the performing arts.

The KEYS Program – received $2,500 to support 50 free music therapy sessions for pediatric cancer patients and children with disabilities who live in Oswego County.

Oswego Bookmobile, Inc. – received $2,500 to support staffing the Bookmobile with Literacy Specialists and a Literacy Assistant for the Driving Books Home support literacy program.

Oswego County Historical Society – received $2,800 to support UV filtering film and protective rug coverings to protect archival collections and improve access to the art and furnishings of the museum.

Blessings in a Backpack/Fulton Chapter received $1,500 to supply at-risk school children with food for the weekends when free school meals are not available.

Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County received $3,000 to purchase curricula and train staff, implementing the Monique Burr Foundation for Children Prevention Education Programs for the community and schools.

CNY Arts Center received $3,000 to cover production costs and royalties for autumn musicals.

Food Bank of Central New York received $2,000 to support the distribution of nutritious food to families living in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District.

Friends of Camp Hollis received $3,000 to support the construction of an inclusive playground.

Friends of Fort Ontario received $7,000 to purchase historic clothing and equipment for a living history interpretation by staff & volunteers.

Friends of Great Bear received $5,000 to improve parking, walkways and entrances.

Fulton Family YMCA received $3,000 to support the LifeSkills program, which seeks to build social and emotional skills in children.

Oswego Health Foundation received $3,100 to purchase a new Q-Stress system for its cardiac stress lab.

WNPE/WNPI TV/WPBS received $1,800 to produce a weekly public affairs show that includes stories on art, culture, history and conservation.

These grants were made possible with support from the Oswego County Community Foundation, A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital Health Fund, NBT Bank Fund and The Emerick Fund.

Between March 2020 and March 2021, the following grants were awarded on a rolling basis to nonprofits providing critical support services to individuals who were disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. In partnership with the Shineman Foundation and United Way of Greater Oswego County, and with generous support from community members, the Oswego County Community Foundation formed the Oswego County COVID-19 Fund to provide rapid and responsive relief grants during the pandemic

Victory Transformation, Inc. – $3,947
Provide shelter, care, meals and masks for individuals living in homelessness and have addiction issues.

The Children’s Museum of Oswego received $2,000 to support outdoor programming which will occur in the space directly outside of the museum, as well as in the pocket park located off of First Street.

CNY Arts Center received $2,000 to create and deliver low-cost or no-cost programming for its target audiences.

Food Bank of Central New York received $2,500 to support the distribution of nutritious food through its Mobile Food Pantry, as well as increase access to Food Bank programs and community resources available to eligible residents of Oswego County.

Friends of Great Bear received $4,400 to construct a boardwalk bridge on the Yellow trail, which is used by hikers, bikers and trail runners.

Friends of Riverside Cemetery of Oswego received $1,000 to help with the restoration and preservation of the Page Memorial Chapel.

Oswego Bookmobile, Inc. received $2,500 to help cover the cost of a literacy specialist who will be on the bus four days each week.

Oswego County Historical Society received $2,500 to stabilize a retaining wall around the sidewalk of the property to make the grounds safer for its outdoor events.

Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team received $2,420 to replace and update GIS mapping computers and laptops, which are used in mobile command post and by team leaders in missing or lost person incidents.

Oswego Health Foundation received $740 to purchase emergency evacuation bags for the babies in their Maternity Center.

Pulaski Historical Society received $2,000 to update its military and youth rooms with paint, shelving, lighting and refinished floors.

Safe Haven Museum and Education Center received $2,400 to fund the collections management project, which will allow the researcher to accession artifacts and extant documents in the museum’s collection using a software program.

ARISE Child and Family Service received $1,300 for the ARISE Oswego County Ramp Program, which provides residents of Oswego County access to their homes and community.

ARTSwego received $500 to present a special concert highlighting the Achievement of Women in Music, comprised of Pulitzer Prize winning women composers and designed as part of a multifaceted celebration of the NY Women’s Suffrage Centennial.

Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County received $5,000 to improve mental health, advocacy and forensic interview facilities in its Pulaski satellite location to better serve children and families who are victims of crime.

CNY Arts Center received $2,750 to support renovations to the Center’s newly purchased building, which will house Fulton’s first Community Arts Center.

Friends of Oswego County Hospice received $500 to strengthen its volunteer program through outreach, volunteer recruitment, training and support.

Fulton Family YMCA received $5,000 to assist with the support and expansion of Girls Rock, a program for young girls in Oswego County ages 8-18 to foster self-esteem, confidence, relationships and leadership skills.

Oswego Bookmobile received $1,500 to purchase books and supplies to make the program more accessible to children with special needs.

Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team received $2,340 to acquire additional emergency personnel paging equipment for new search and rescue team members.

Oswego Players received $2,400 for the Theater Arts Youth Academy, a one-year program sponsored by the Oswego Players and the Art Association of Oswego to engage youth from 10 to 20 years old in all aspects of theatre arts performance and production.

Oswego YMCA received $1,250 to support the construction of a connector from the Armory building to the building that houses its pool.

Pregnancy Care Center of Oswego County received $2,000 to provide diapers, wipes and baby furniture to clients.

United Friends of Homeless Animals received $2,500 to support veterinary costs to help more animals.

CNY Arts Center received $2,250 to purchase lighting instruments, accessories and a scrim curtain to project background patterns and special effects during performances.

Friends of Great Bear received $4,200 to repair a heavily used trail intersection, which will improve sustainability and safety for visitors to the Great Bear Recreation Area and help prevent erosion.

Oswego County Health Department received $2,200 to support Healthy Families Oswego County, a primary prevention home visiting program which seeks to reduce maltreatment of children and improve overall family health and functioning.

Oswego County Opportunities received $5,000 to support child care scholarships for low-income families through its Discovery Learning Center.

Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue received $2,366 to purchase new portable radios for team leaders and batteries for volunteer emergency personnel paging equipment.

PAWS of CNY received $2,350 to increase volunteer enrollment in Oswego County to meet the service needs of nursing facilities, schools, libraries and other community events.

Pregnancy Care Center of Oswego County received $1,000 to purchase diapers and wipes for its clientele of underserved women.

Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum received $2,500 to modernize and upgrade exhibits.

Sage Brook Horse Foundation and Youth Program received $1,750 to purchase haying equipment to feed horses and generate an additional income source for operations through sale of the surplus hay.

United Friends of Homeless Animals received $2,000 to assist with veterinary expenses for an increasing population of animals cared for by rescue shelters.

Annie Porter Ainsworth Memorial Library received $850 to provide free early-childhood summer art classes to help introduce and expose community youth to fine arts.

Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi) received $3,325 to support the continuation of its Breakfast and Lunch for Weekends and Crisis Food/Hygiene Support projects.

CNY Arts Center received $3,000 to purchase and install fire retardant, noise reducing blackout curtains to meet fire safety standards for the Center’s performing arts space.

Friends of Fulton Parks received $2,250 to support the installation of accessible pathways to Recreation Park as part of its Recreation Park Revitalization Project.

Fulton Family YMCA received $1,725 to purchase supplies to help expand its Girls Rock program, which seeks to promote positive self-image, skill-building, teamwork and community engagement.

Fulton Jazz Festival received $2,500 to expand its 2017 festival to include an educational programming component with group classes for students and workshops for music educators.

Fulton Kiwanis Recreation Association received $2,250 to complete renovations to its Kid Haven clubhouse to ensure secure storage of maintenance and sports equipment and to build a handicap-accessible bathroom.

Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways received $1,600 to support the College Life 1-Day program in collaboration with Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Branch to help ninth and tenth grade girls in Oswego County prepare for college explore college opportunities.

Oswego County Historical Society received $3,100 to upgrade outdated display room lighting in exhibit galleries to protect and preserve archival collections.

Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue received $2,784 to purchase new handheld receivers for the Project Lifesaver program, which seeks to help locate missing high-risk youth and adults with dementia.

Oswego Health Foundation received $3,902 to purchase equipment, teaching aids and educational materials to support its Community Health Plan.

Blessings in a Backpack, Oswego-Fulton Chapter received $3,000 to feed underserved children in Oswego and Fulton for 38 weekends during the school year.

Cleveland Historical Society received $3,390 to restore Friendship House, a companion property of historic former St. James Episcopal Church, which houses historical displays and serves as a convening space for board meetings and other functions.

Friends of Fort Ontario received $3,000 to design, build and install interpretive panels on the Fort Ontario State Historic Site grounds to show elements of historic landscapes that no longer exist.

Friends of Great Bear received $3,500 to repair an eroding hillside trail connection by installing limestone steps that will allow for safe use and access of the historical canal lock and the adjacent trails.

Friends of Quirk’s Players received $1,500 to purchase two headset microphones that will enhance sound quality of theater productions put on by Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School drama club.

Oswego Bookmobile received $1,500 to expand its mobile literacy outreach program to include additional age groups by increasing the selection of books and STEM-related activities available to preschool age children.

Oswego Players received $890 to purchase equipment that will enable outdoor performances of the summer Youth Educational Theater Initiative (Y.E.T.I.), which engages youth across Oswego County by staging productions in local parks.

Rebels’ Sports Boosters received $3,000 for materials to construct enclosures on Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District athletic fields. The addition to the fields will help shelter students and coaches from inclement weather during sporting events and engage the broader community by encouraging use of facilities by outside groups.

Sage Brook Horse Foundation received $220 to purchase food and water buckets for youth volunteers to use when feeding horses.
